Real Estate & Development Legal Advisory

Property investment.
A clear legal position.

Legal advice on property investment, development, ownership and the contracts supporting the asset.

A property investment brings together ownership rights, capital commitments, development obligations and future income. Adad advises investors, developers, property owners and lenders on the Qatar legal arrangements governing those interests, from the proposed acquisition through development, occupation and disposal.

We examine the legal basis on which an asset is owned, occupied or developed. Title, registered interests, encumbrances, existing leases, authority to transact and applicable ownership restrictions inform the due diligence and transaction structure. Approval and registration requirements are assessed for the particular parties, asset and proposed use.

Our advice covers acquisition and disposal agreements, property-holding structures, development joint ventures, commercial leases and the legal aspects of financing. We consider funding obligations, decision rights, delivery conditions, payment, warranties and remedies together. For a development, the land and investment arrangements need to remain consistent with construction, financing and operating commitments.

During ownership and on exit, changes in occupancy, funding or control can affect several agreements at once. We advise on contractual amendments, consent requirements, transfers and disputed rights. Where a dispute concerns ownership, development or leasing, the assessment addresses evidence, available procedures and the practical effect of a proposed settlement.

Our services in this sector are legal advice, legal documentation and representation. Adad does not provide property brokerage, marketing, valuations, financial investment advice or operational property management.

THE COMMERCIAL CONTEXT

01

Before committing capital

Assess the interest being acquired, restrictions, existing obligations and conditions to the proposed transaction.

02

Through development and occupation

Connect land rights, construction obligations, financing conditions and commercial leasing terms.

03

When interests change

Consider transfer restrictions, consents, co-owner rights, contractual remedies and the legal steps needed to implement an exit.
